🌈 Parents & Guardians Workshop

Join us in our interactive online workshop designed for parents and guardians who want to build stronger connections with their LGBTQIA2S+ youth. This self-paced course blends videos, scenarios, and trivia to help you feel more confident having open and affirming conversations at home. We understand for many family members, navigating discussions around LGBTQA2S+ themes can at times be a barrier due to limited exposure and our FREE workshop is here to provide a safe and accessible environment where you can explore the fundamentals of LGBTQIA2S+ topics. Through these lessons you’ll gain tools such as inclusive language habits and an understanding around statistics. You’ll also have the chance to post questions and share reflections in our discussion forum and in our evaluation survey, which our Positive Images team will check in on periodically. Learning Objectives: 1. Deepen understanding of LGBTQIA2S+ identities, terminology, and evolving language. 2. Build confidence using inclusive and affirming language, including names and pronouns. 3. Recognize and respond to biased comments or microaggressions using practical interruption strategies. 4. Identify and access supportive local and national resources for queer and trans people and families.
